Paultons Golf Centre was established in 1993 comprising an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole academy course, practice driving range, club house and associated car parking, and greenkeepers facilities.

Last year, Paultons Golf Centre partnered with Bournemouth-born Georgia Hall MBE, winner of the Women’s British Open and a leading player on the USLPGA tour, to launch a new academy that offers tailored programmes for young people and encourages disabled golfers to take up the game.

Since launching, hundreds of young people who would otherwise never have had an opportunity to play the game have been introduced to playing golf.

It is two-fold – the plans will evolve Paultons Golf Centre from simply a golf course to a fully inclusive golf facility that provides opportunities for the local community. By upgrading the facilities such as the extending the driving range, we will provide our golfers with a better experience as we can implement newer golf technology and equipment.

An investment in Toptracer software in the driving range has already resulted in a tenfold increase in the use of the practice facility. In addition, the profile of customers using the practice facility has evolved to include a large number of family groups, teenagers and young adults, as well as a thriving junior programme.

No – the proposals are centred around upgrading the golf course.

No – the opening hours of the golf centre would not change as a result of the proposed development. Whilst the proposed improvements will make the Golf Centre a more attractive destination for golfers, the use of the site for golf is already established and ongoing.

Paultons Golf Centre has developed an Environmental Charter that includes measures such as increasing the recycling rate of waste generated to 75%, using sustainable materials when replacing course signage etc, managing ‘out of play’ areas for the benefit of wildlife, and implementing a management plan for the woodland within the golf course boundary.

Construction would only start after receiving planning permission. The project team is currently focusing on preparing a planning application. A Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) will be submitted as part of the planning application.

Paultons is engaging through its wider team with the relevant officers and will submit a planning application later this year to the New Forest National Park Authority.

Yes, Georgia’s experience and knowledge will have a great influence on the final plans that are put forward. Her ambition is to deliver a golf experience that appeals to the widest audience possible. She will be involved throughout the whole process with the Paultons team and its wider project team

The 18-hole course will be retained and remain unchanged as a result of this application.

Yes. During the development of these proposals, there has been ongoing dialogue with the New Forest National Park Authority (NF NPA). Recently, we submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening request to the NF NPA for the officers to consider the scale of our proposed redevelopment. After reviewing our information, the NF NPA has concluded that our proposals would be unlikely to give rise to significant environmental effects.
